The Centre of Excellence in Mineralogy (CEM) is an institution of higher education that imparts postgraduate education in Earth Sciences with particular emphasis on research in Mineralogy, Economic Geology, and related disciplines. CEM is funded by the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (M/oFE&PT) through the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan. The Centre seeks the services of strong and dynamic candidates for the following position.

• Eligibility: See the HEC Website for Faculty Appointment Criteria of Associate Professor (BPS-20); All Disciplines Excluding Engineering, IT, Medical, Law, Arts, and Design.
• CEM Required Criteria: Only candidates with a PhD degree in Carbonate Sedimentology, Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology, Economic Geology, Tectonics, or Geodynamics are eligible to apply.

UPPER AGE LIMIT: 50 years (05 years general relaxation in upper age limit included).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Interested individuals who meet the criteria can obtain application forms from the Superintendent Administration Office, Centre of Excellence in Mineralogy, University of Balochistan, Sariab Road, Quetta.
2. The candidates should submit five (05) sets of applications in the shape of a dossier, along with a CV, the first page of research publications published in HEC-recognized journals in the relevant field, five (05) photographs, attested copies of academic degrees, and other credentials to the Centre of Excellence in Mineralogy, UoB, Quetta.
3. Experience certificates as per CV must be attached to the application form.
4. Applicants already in service should apply through the proper channel along with the NOC issued by their parent department by the due date; otherwise, their applications will not be entertained.
5. The interview will be held at the Centre of Excellence in Mineralogy, University of Balochistan, Quetta, and no TA/DA is admissible.
6. The competent authority of the Centre of Excellence in Mineralogy, UoB, Quetta, reserves the right to cancel, increase, or decrease any or all of the above positions without assigning any reason. Canvassing in any form or manner will disqualify the candidate.
7. Applications may be delivered, during office hours, personally, or by post to the Director, Centre of Excellence in Mineralogy, University of Balochistan, Quetta, within due dates. The last date for submission of the application is 10th June 2024.
