According to a new survey, Pakistan’s literacy rate has dropped from 60% to 58 percent. This may not appear to be a significant difference, but the literacy rate is steadily falling.

There are three locations where the Karachi Grammar School can be found. The original school in Saddar, Karachi‘s heartland, is now a heritage structure that accommodates Classes VII, VIII, and IX. We teach students from Nursery to Class VI in a building that opened in 1991 in Clifton, not far from the seafront. Our O and A-level students are housed in our newest facility, which opened in 1999.

The School is self-supporting, with no government or external funding, and is governed by a Board of Governors that is recognised as a Society under the Societies Registration Act of 1860.

The School’s Principal serves as the Board’s Secretary and carries out the Board’s decisions.

Mama Parsi Girls’ Secondary School was founded on April 1, 1918, by Jamshed Nusserwanjee Mehta, who raised three donations to do so. The new Parsi girls’ school was initially housed in a section of the Bai Virbaijee School and was solely open to Parsi students, but after Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s request, the school opened its doors to Muslim students as well.

In June 1919, it relocated to a big structure on the corner of Haji Abdullah Haroon and Inverarity Roads, which still stands today. Mama Mansion was the name given to this structure.

The construction of the current structure, known as the Mama Parsi Girls’ High School, began on January 17, 1920, and ended on January 26, 1925.
