University of Kotli Azad Jammu & Kashmir (UoK AJK) has announced a comprehensive faculty hiring round for BPS-21, BPS-20, BPS-19, and BPS-18 positions. The recruitment spans multiple departments—including English, Banking & Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science & IT, Software Engineering, Botany, Human Resource Management (HRM), Urdu, Zoology, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, International Relations, Law, Psychology, Biotechnology, English (Preferably Literature), and Kashmir Studies—with appointments at the Kotli (AJK) campus.

All appointments will follow Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan criteria and Government age policy. The selection process includes shortlisting, an MCQ/written test (if applicable), and a formal interview before the Selection Board. Preference is indicated for AJK nationals (1st Class State Subject).

Job Position Detail

Eligibility criteria for all categories: As laid down by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan for the respective cadre and discipline (qualification, research publications, post-PhD/ post-MPhil experience where applicable). Age: as per Government policy for public universities.

Shortlisting rule (as printed): Where a written test is conducted by a recognized testing service, only the top five candidates scoring 50% or higher may be invited to interview for one advertised position. Final selection is made on the recommendations of the Selection Board.

What each cadre typically involves

Professor (BPS-21)
Provide strategic academic leadership, win research grants, supervise PhD/MS scholars, and publish in HEC-recognized venues. Lead curriculum revisions, accreditation cycles (OBE, NCEAC/PCATP where applicable), and mentor mid-career faculty.

Associate Professor (BPS-20)
Drive funded research, supervise graduate theses, and contribute to national curricula/board of studies. Support program accreditation, build laboratory capacity, and co-lead departmental development plans.

Assistant Professor (BPS-19)
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop new electives (e.g., AI, Data Science, Business Analytics, Modern Poetry/Prose), publish regularly, and participate in academic advising and community outreach.

Lecturer (BPS-18)
Deliver core undergraduate courses, design assessments, advise students, and contribute to department activities. For Law/Psychology/Biotechnology/English Literature/Kashmir Studies, lecturers may assist in workshop facilitation and research projects.

• For Professors/Associate Professors, attach four (4) complete sets of testimonials and evidence (publications, experience certificates, service record).
• Equivalence certificate from HEC for foreign degrees (if applicable).
• If serving permanently in a University/Government organization, apply through proper channel with NOC; age limit does not apply to permanent in-service candidates (as per notice).
• Experience in high schools, embassy schools, degree colleges, or cadet colleges does not count toward university appointment experience.
