USAID Talent Hunt Program (THP) – Stipend for Poor Students
USAID’s Talent Hunt Program (THP) supports and prepares low-income female students who aspire to higher education but cannot apply to Pakistan’s best universities because they lack the finances to pay for professional exam preparation.
By giving entry test preparation courses for Pakistan’s medical, engineering, and general institutions to bright female students with exceptional Matriculation and FA/FSc results, this project aims to invest in Pakistan’s women’s educational future.
Eligibility Criteria
- The student must be a Pakistan/AJ&K national
- Must belong to a low-income family
- Must have secured
- 80% or above in Intermediate (1St year) in Engineering/Medical/Computer Sciences Group
- 70% or above in Intermediate (1st year) in Social/General Science/Art & Humanities Group
- Special preference will be given to female
- Students from rural/less developed districts of Pakistan
- Students with different abilities
How to Apply for USAID MNBSP 2022
Submit your application through the website http://scholarship.hec.gov.pk. The printed application as well as any further documentation that may be required is then delivered to the university’s Financial Aid Office. Do not send any documents to the HEC. Offices of Student Aid and Financial Aid at Universities
Process of Shortlisting
- The application will be scrutinized by the HEC Committee to determine the eligibility of the applicant.
- A merit list will be prepared based on academic records and needs-based criteria defined under the program.
- Offer letters will be issued to top candidates depending upon the available slots.

USAID Talent Hunt Program (THP) – Scholarship for Poor Students
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has committed to funding a scholarship program for academically brilliant Pakistani students who are interested in pursuing higher education but do not have the financial means to do so.
To assist Pakistan in increasing its university enrollment and bringing it in line with international standards, USAID’s Merit and Needs-Based Scholarship Program (MNBSP) Phase-I has been awarding scholarships to students who are academically gifted but come from families with limited financial resources since 2004.
The first phase of the effort had a total cost of $10.63 million and was carried out in 11 prestigious colleges in Pakistan, both public and private. There were 1,907 available scholarships for students interested in agriculture and business.
