The Government of Pakistan, through the Ministry of National Food Security & Research, is inviting applications from highly accomplished, dynamic, and visionary agriculture professionals for appointment as Chairman, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) on a contract/tenure basis in MP-I Scale. Job Position Detail

Pay Package (As Per Advertisement – Explained Clearly)

The Chairman, PARC will be appointed on a contract/tenure basis. The terms and conditions (including the pay package) will be broadly aligned with applicable government benchmarks for MP Scale/analogous statutory positions. The final pay package and appointment terms will be subject to approval/determination by the competent authority (President of Pakistan).

This means the role is positioned at a high-level executive compensation framework consistent with MP Scale standards, with formal approval and notification through the competent authority process.

Eligibility Criteria (Qualification & Experience) ✅

This is a leadership appointment meant for candidates with deep scientific credibility and senior executive capability.

1) Qualification (Minimum)

• PhD in Agriculture-related Sciences from an HEC recognized university.

2) Experience (Minimum)

• At least 25 years of proven experience in:
  • R&D organizations / recognized research institutions
  • Higher learning institutions (public/private)
  • Relevant public or private sector organizations
• The experience must include leadership exposure in strategic planning, implementation, and management of multi-disciplinary agricultural research programs, and demonstrated capability to manage a team/group of scientists and researchers.

3) Research Publications (Minimum)

• At least 17 research publications in HEC recognized refereed journals/books.

4) Additional Competencies (Others)

• Demonstrated ability to mobilize and utilize financial and human resources effectively.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills—essential for stakeholder management, institutional leadership, and international collaboration.

Contract / Tenure Terms (Important for Applicants) 📌

• Extension: up to 2 additional years, granted yearly (annual basis) based on performance
