University of Layyah Announces Regular and Permanent Faculty Positions for Pakistani Nationals

Minimum Qualification Criteria

For Associate Professor

Candidates must hold a PhD in the relevant subject or equivalent qualification from an HEC-recognized institute or university. Applicants should also meet the experience and publication requirements. The advertisement mentions either ten years of teaching/research experience from a recognized postgraduate institute or university, or professional experience in the relevant field at national or international level, or five years of post-PhD teaching/research experience. In addition, the candidate must have ten research publications in HEC-recognized journals, out of which four publications must be within the last five years.

For Engineering, Information Technology and Computing disciplines, the degree must be in Engineering / Information Technology / Computing or an equivalent HEC-recognized qualification. The same experience and publication framework applies, with publications also acceptable in Pakistan Engineering Council recognized journals where relevant.

For Assistant Professor

Applicants must have a PhD in the relevant subject or equivalent qualification from an HEC-recognized institution. For Engineering, Information Technology and Computing disciplines, the required qualification is a PhD in Engineering / IT / Computing or equivalent qualification recognized by HEC.

For Lecturer

Candidates must possess MS / MSc (Hons) / MPhil (First Division) or an equivalent qualification in the relevant subject from an HEC-recognized university or higher education institution. For Engineering, IT, and Computing disciplines, the degree should be MS or MPhil (First Division) in the relevant area from a recognized institute.

Important Academic Note

A candidate must not have a third division in the entire academic career. However, a candidate having a PhD in the relevant field and not more than one third division in the academic career may still be eligible, as stated in the advertisement.

University of Layyah Apply Online

Applicants are required to submit their application online through the official University of Layyah website at www.ul.edu.pk. The online application portal will remain active only up to 06 May 2026 (Wednesday), so candidates should complete the online form carefully before the deadline. The advertisement also advises applicants to upload a passport-size photograph with blue background and provide a valid email address and WhatsApp number.

After online submission, candidates must send the required hard copy application dossier to the office of the Registrar, University of Layyah. For Associate Professor, five complete sets of the application form and attested documents are required. For Assistant Professor and Lecturer, one complete set is required. The hard copy must reach the office on or before 11 May 2026 (Monday). Applicants should also attach the original paid fee voucher, copies of degrees, transcripts, experience certificates, CNIC, photographs, and research/publication evidence wherever applicable.
