School Teacher Internship (STI) Program – Punjab Government

The School Education Department in Punjab is offering School Teacher Internship (STI) positions for educated and aspiring individuals who want to build a career in teaching. These internships provide opportunities for candidates to serve in Primary, Elementary, High, and Higher Secondary Schools across Punjab on a temporary basis.

Key Highlights of STI Positions

1. Total Vacancies: 12,500
2. Stipend:
   • Primary School Teacher: Rs. 38,000/month
   • Elementary School Teacher: Rs. 40,000/month
   • High School Teacher: Rs. 45,000/month
3. Eligibility Criteria:
   • Educational Requirements: Candidates with degrees in the following fields are eligible to apply for Matric-Tech subjects:
     • Health Sciences
     • Fashion Designing
     • Agricultural Sciences
     • Information & Communication Technologies (ICT)
   • Merit Distribution:
     • Matric: 15 marks
     • Intermediate: 15 marks
     • Bachelor’s (Hons): 55 marks
     • Master’s Degree: 40 marks (if applicable).
   • Additional Marks:
     • B.Ed/M.Ed: 10 marks
     • Interview: 5 marks
   • Preference: Priority will be given to candidates with higher postgraduate qualifications and those residing within the union council of the school.
4. Experience:
   • Experience is not mandatory. However, candidates with relevant postgraduate teaching experience will be given preference in case of a tie.
5. Selection Process:
   • Selection will be based on merit, with a union-council-wise merit list being created.
6. Interview Panel:
   • The hiring committee will include the head teacher, AEO, and a school council member.

   • End Date: 30th January 2025 (11:59 PM)
2. Display of Merit List:
   • Initial Merit List: 31st January 2025
3. Interviews of Shortlisted Candidates:
   • Dates: 3rd February 2025 – 4th February 2025
4. Final Merit List Display:
   • Date: 6th February 2025
5. Objection Submission:
   • Deadline: 7th February 2025
6. Redressal of Objections:
   • Date: 8th February 2025
7. Issuance of Letters of Agreement:
   • Date: 10th February 2025

• The STI portal will remain open from 22nd January 2025 to 30th January 2025.
• No TA/DA will be provided to candidates for attending interviews.
• All positions are strictly temporary and will not lead to permanent employment.
• Any objections regarding merit lists can be submitted to the District Education Officer (DEO).
