The UET Taxila Research Assistant Jobs 2025 – HEC NRPU Project Positions invite Punjab- and ICT-domiciled engineers to join a two-year, cutting-edge study of AI and Natural Language Processing at the university’s Swarm Robotics Lab in Taxila. Two seats are available, each carrying a Rs 100,000 monthly stipend, with work beginning this fall and running the full project term. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, be 40 years of age or younger, and show demonstrable strength in Python plus modern ML frameworks; those targeting the NLP stream should also be comfortable with CUDA pipelines and deployment tools such as FastAPI, Docker, and ONNX.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

You may apply under either of the two streams listed below:

🔹 AI Engineer Stream

Candidates applying in this track must have:

• ✅ A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an HEC-recognized institution.
• ✅ Strong expertise in Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning, and Transformer-based architectures.
• ✅ Programming proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience in:
  • PyTorch
  • TensorFlow
  • Other modern ML frameworks
• ✅ A record of 2–3 peer-reviewed conference or journal publications (published/submitted).
• ✅ Prior involvement in student research projects is highly preferred and may be considered an advantage.

🔹 Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer Stream

Candidates interested in NLP-focused research must meet the following:

• ✅ A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an HEC-recognized institution.
• ✅ Strong programming skills in Python, with practical experience using:
  • PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras
  • CUDA-based development for deepfake detection pipelines
• ✅ Knowledge of self-supervised representation learning, especially using HuggingFace libraries.
• ✅ Hands-on experience in web application deployment, including:
  • FastAPI, Flask, Docker, GitHub CI/CD pipelines
  • Integration of scalable, production-grade solutions
• ✅ Familiarity with deploying TensorFlow Lite / ONNX models on:
  • NVIDIA Jetson, ARM-based systems, embedded hardware
• ✅ Research publication(s) in the relevant domain or experience on funded research projects is a major plus.
• 💡 A strong research proposal or project pitch is encouraged but not strictly required.
