The Directorate of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar invites applications on an emergency basis for a short-term / fixed-term, donor-funded Mental Health Assessment & Follow-up Project. Positions include Project Coordinator (Peshawar with travel to Swat, Shangla & Buner), Project Officers (Swat, Shangla & Buner), and Psychologists (Swat, Shangla & Buner). These roles are full-time, field-intensive, and mission-driven—ideal for candidates with strong public mental health, psychology, and research implementation backgrounds.

What You’ll Do (Role Highlights)

Project Coordinator (Peshawar with travel)

  • Build a master implementation plan covering tools, staffing, mobility, supplies, and safety briefings.
  • Lead weekly district review calls, track KPIs (number screened, positive screens, follow-up rates, referral turnaround), and unblock field issues.
  • Maintain risk registers (security, data, safeguarding), escalate incidents promptly, and ensure corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with district health offices, community leaders, and facility focal persons to keep caseloads flowing without bottlenecks.
  • Produce donor-ready reports with clean datasets, visuals, and short narratives explaining variance and lessons learned.

Project Officer (District based)

  • Translate the master plan into district work plans with routes, session calendars, and team rosters.
  • Supervise enumerators/psychologists on daily targets; conduct spot checks for data quality and consent procedures.
  • Ensure tool fidelity—the right questionnaire for the right age/setting; manage tablets/registers; sync data daily.
  • Coordinate referrals to partner facilities and follow up on outcomes (attendance, initiation of care).
  • Keep district records inspection-ready: attendance sheets, consent files, incident logs, and stock registers.

Psychologists (District based)

  • Conduct clinical interviews and standardized screenings (depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use—per protocol).
  • Use validated questionnaires in Pashto/Urdu; identify red-flags, manage distress, and escalate according to the safeguarding plan.
  • Deliver brief psychoeducation for patients/caregivers; advise on coping strategies and when to seek facility care.
  • Document cases clearly, protect confidentiality, and contribute to quality-improvement discussions.
  • Participate in training refreshers, inter-rater reliability checks, and reflective practice sessions.
