2. About the Education Testing Council (ETC), HEC 🏢
ETC is HEC’s own, government-backed testing body created to provide standardised, transparent and affordable testing services to universities and public sector organisations across Pakistan. It conducts admission tests, scholarship tests, aptitude/subject-based tests, and computer-based exams. To maintain credibility, ETC must:
- design valid & reliable tests;
- run nationwide test operations in dozens of cities on the same day;
- ensure zero paper leakage, zero impersonation, and zero malpractice;
- maintain test item banks and psychometric analysis;
- follow international examination quality standards.
