The Health Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa invites applications from qualified and experienced doctors (male & female) for Specialists on Fixed Pay across multiple District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospitals of the province. Vacancies span the following specialties: Anaesthesia, Dental, Dermatology, ENT, Gynaecology, Medical Specialist, Nephrology, Neurosurgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics Surgery, Pathology, Paediatrics, Radiology, Surgical Specialist. Appointments are for one (01) year on a fixed pay basis, extendable on satisfactory performance and continuation of service need.

What You’ll Do (Role Highlights)

Safe, high-volume clinical care

• Provide consultation, diagnosis, and treatment in your specialty across OPD, IPD, Emergency, OT/Procedure rooms.
• Lead or participate in on-call rotas, ensuring timely response for emergencies and critical cases.
• Conduct ward rounds, develop management plans, and coordinate multidisciplinary care with allied teams.

Quality, safety, and documentation

• Maintain complete patient records, prescriptions, consent, and discharge summaries in line with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health regulations.
• Implement infection prevention and control (IPC) bundles, antimicrobial stewardship, and blood safety practices.
• Support mortality & morbidity (M&M) reviews, clinical audits, and protocol adoption to raise standards consistently.

Training and teamwork

• Supervise and mentor medical officers, house officers, and nursing staff assigned to your unit.
• Participate in CME, bedside teaching, case presentations, and skills drills (BLS/ACLS/ATLS where relevant).
• Collaborate with radiology, pathology, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and nursing to streamline patient journeys and reduce length of stay.

Public service & outreach

• Contribute to referral pathways between tehsil hospitals and the DHQ; improve turnaround for diagnostics and surgery.
• Support public health campaigns, screening days, and maternal & child health priorities in catchment areas.
