What You’ll Be Doing (Role Snapshots)

1) Heritage Specialist

  • Lead or supervise condition assessments, significance evaluations, and CMPs for protected monuments and archaeological sites.
  • Recommend treatment methodologies (minimal intervention, compatible materials, reversibility) aligned with ICOMOS and national standards.
  • Coordinate with architects, conservators, engineers, and archaeologists to ensure quality in restoration and stabilization works.
  • Prepare site briefs, interpretation material, and tourism integration plans that respect carrying capacity and visitor management.
  • Conduct stakeholder consultations and community outreach, embedding local voices in conservation strategies.
  • Draft technical notes, PC-I inputs, BoQs (with specialists), and monitor progress against timelines and budgets.

2) Heritage Impact Assessor

  • Undertake Heritage Impact Assessments (HIA) for development activities around protected or listed heritage assets; analyze direct, indirect, cumulative, and visual impacts.
  • Work with Civil/Structural teams to propose mitigation measures (setbacks, design changes, materials, vibration monitoring, temporary protections).
  • Review survey drawings, geotechnical reports, and method statements to ensure sensitivity to heritage fabric.
  • Ensure legal compliance with Punjab Special Premises (Preservation) Ordinance, Antiquities Act, and relevant rules/regulations.
  • Maintain PEC-compliant documentation, prepare checklists, and contribute to approval files for competent authorities.

Who Should Apply

  • Heritage Specialist: Senior professionals from heritage management, architecture, archaeology, or cultural resource management with demonstrated portfolios—masonry conservation, lime-based repairs, timber/stone stabilization, and documentation (HABS/photogrammetry preferred).
  • Heritage Impact Assessor: Civil engineers with PEC license, proven HIA assignments, and exposure to construction near heritage assets (vibration control, underpinning, shoring, crack monitoring). Familiarity with EIA/IEE processes is a plus.

Soft skills for both roles: clear technical writing, risk awareness, stakeholder management, GIS/AutoCAD literacy (advantage), safety-first mindset, and ethical stewardship of public heritage.


Pay, Contract & Benefits (as per notice)
